This was the start of a very good day.

Brown of all shapes and sizes were to be had. One small run produced most of the days fish. The 4"-5" range were feeding on anything you put in their face. I could catch these little guys all day long.

Utah's mountain white fish is often looked over. It is even hated by some. But there is something about it that keeps me coming back for more. When you hook into a 12" white fish it bolts. Gives you a good fight as if it were half a foot longer. I think this winter it will be a mission of mine to hunt these beauties down an see how big they can really get.

White fish fight hard and can get really big.

Fishing this river in the fall is too much fun. The fish are active, the weather is mild, and the water is clear. This weekend was just what i needed. Now that i think about it the only thing that could have made it better is some action on the new streamer pattern. They just would not move for the meat. But man throw down a ___ midge (to protect our little secret) and you were tight almost every time.

The browns were out in full force.

All in all it was great to be out on the river.
nice day for sure! I like the steam laying low on the water pic. I'm with ya on gettin out the soon, I' even snap pis of you landing the whiteys, LOL ... ;o)
